We are looking for a versatile, energetic and highly-organized human resources officer who will be responsible for managing and coordinating all human resources functions for shoppyrex including tasks related to recruitment and hiring, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, performance management, compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Position Summary

The purpose of this role is to Assist Shoppyrex CEO by managing his schedule, doing research, writing emails, and other administrative tasks. 

The successful candidate must be effective in planning, prioritizing and executing tasks in a timely manner. They must also exhibit skills in building & maintaining strong relationships both internally & externally.

The ideal candidate is both approachable & respectful, comfortable with new technology, virtual meeting platforms and scheduling systems.

Considering the culture of ownership and accountability within SHOPPYREX, this person should be comfortable taking the initiative when faced with administrative decisions.

  • You will be responsible for new employee orientation, on-boarding, and training programs, learning and development;
  • Identify training needs, recommend and implement approved training materials
  • Take charge of the implementation of HR processes such as performance management, leave, and disciplinary procedures as directed by Senior Management in order to attain high standards in performance, completeness, accuracy, and punctuality.
  • Devise plans and techniques to drive change and culture management
  • Implement and manage the performance evaluation system to ensure all employees receive a timely evaluation
  • Provide the right mix of human resource support services in line with the company’s policies. Review and implement HR systems, policies & procedures in functional areas such as manpower planning, recruitment, performance management, training and development, employee relations, compensation, and benefits administration in the company.
  • Provide internal HR learning and talent development services to the company.
  • Nurture a positive working environment; maintain a positive relationship with staff and ensure all employee grievances are monitored and resolved.

Day to day, you’ll be working with and continuously Managing the employee life cycle, from onboarding and orientation, creating and delivering training sessions and performance review of each employee

You’ll be accountable for these KPIs:

  • Time-to-fill: This measures the amount of time it takes to fill an open position. A shorter time-to-fill indicates that the company is efficient at recruiting and hiring new employees.
  • Employee retention rate: This measures the percentage of employees who remain with the company over a specific period of time. A high retention rate indicates that employees are satisfied with their jobs and the company culture.
  • Employee satisfaction: This can be measured through surveys or other methods to determine how happy and satisfied employees are with their jobs and the company as a whole.

NOTE: This position is FULL-TIME and VIRTUAL. Meaning you work from home The team here at Shoppyrex is located all over the country. Preference for this position is someone in Lagos/Abuja

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the employee life cycle, from onboarding and orientation to offboarding and separation
  • Recruitment and Selection: you will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates for open positions and conducting reference checks, and extending job offers. The HR Officer will also be responsible for overseeing employee onboarding and conducting orientation programs to ensure new hires have a smooth transition into the company.
  • Employee Relations: This involves managing employee relations and communication within the company, including responding to employee inquiries and concerns, conducting investigations, and handling employee grievances and conflicts. The HR Officer will also be responsible for implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, including but not limited to: employee handbook, performance management, leave of absence, and disciplinary action
  • Manage employee leave requests and ensure compliance with leave policies.
  • Conduct employee investigations and handle disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Compensation and Benefits: The HR Officer will be responsible for managing the company's compensation and benefits programs, including salary, bonuses, and employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and time off.
  • Training and Development: The HR Officer will be responsible for identifying training and development needs within the company and implementing programs to address those needs. This may include creating and delivering training sessions, developing training materials or coordinating with internal & external trainers to help employees improve their skills and knowledge
  • Performance Management: The HR Officer will be responsible for implementing the company's performance management process, including setting goals, conducting performance review meetings every week/month and providing feedback to employees to help them improve and grow in their roles.
  • HR Strategy: As the head of the HR function, you will be responsible for working with the leadership to develop and implement HR strategies and policies that align with the company's goals and objectives and identifying opportunities for HR to contribute to the company's success.
  • Manage and update employee records and documentation, including employee files, personal information, personnel reports, job titles, salary data and HRM system
  • Overall, the HR Officer plays a crucial role in managing the HR function within shoppyrex and ensuring that the company attracts, retains, and develops its employees.

  • Employee handbook: Creating and maintaining the employee handbook and ensuring that it is up to date with current policies and procedures.
  • Employee relations investigations: Conducting investigations into employee relations issues as needed.
  • HR reporting: Generating Analyze and report on HR data, such as employee turnover rates, retention rates, diversity statistics, employee engagement scores and other metrics
  • Talent acquisition: Developing and implementing strategies for attracting top talent to the company.
  • Employment branding: Developing and promoting the company's employer brand to attract top talent.
  • Talent assessment: Assessing candidates' skills and fit for open positions.
  • Onboarding: Developing and implementing an onboarding process for new hires.
  • Offboarding: Developing and implementing an offboarding process for departing employees.
  • Employee development: Creating and implementing individual development plans for employees.
  • Career development: Providing guidance and support for employees' career development.
  • Leadership development: Developing and implementing leadership development programs for high-potential employees.
  • Employee recognition: Developing and implementing programs to recognize and incentives to motivate employees contribution and reward top performers and coordinating employee appreciation events.
  • Employee engagement surveys: Conducting and analyzing employee engagement surveys to identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the company's employee wellness program, including coordinating wellness activities and events and providing resources and support to help employees maintain physical and mental health.
  • Employee relations training: Providing training to managers and employees on effective employee relations practices.
  • HRMS management: Managing the company's HRM system and ensuring that it is up to date and accurate.
  • HR budget: Assist with the company's budgeting and planning process by providing data on HR-related costs and projecting future HR needs.
  • HR strategy implementation: Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and sales, to ensure that HR initiatives align with the overall goals of the company.
  • External HR vendors: Developing and maintaining positive relationships with external organizations, such as job boards, recruitment agencies, and professional associations.
  • HR best practices: Staying up to date on HR best practices and making recommendations for improvements to HR processes.
  • Conduct salary and benefits surveys to ensure that the company's compensation packages are competitive and fair.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensuring compliance with all relevant employment regulations, such as equal opportunity laws and labor laws.
